Kindness and a little STEM fun!

We started the day watching this sweet story about kindness.  We discussed how Mr. Hatch changes through out the story and how an act of kindness can change anyone’s day. We finished our day with STEM Valentine stations.  I love seeing their creativity when given a task and materials then letting them run with it!

Thank you for all the sweet Valentines today.  My heart was as full as my desk of goodies!

Hope you have a great week!

Valentines Day!

Hello my friends!  Tomorrow is Valentines Day.  As our note said that we sent home last week, this is not one of our scheduled party days.  I do have some fun activities planned for tomorrow and we will spend our last part of the day passing out and going through the Valentines that our friends have brought.  I will have extra bags in the classroom, so if you haven’t sent a box no worries your student can use a bag:)

Reading Hwk went home today along with new vocab words!

Wed and Thurs this week we will be taking a Common Assessment in Math and Reading.

Mark your calender- NO SCHOOL Monday Feb 20 and EARLY RELEASE Wed Feb 22 at 12

Hit the Ground Running!

Wow our kiddos have literally hit the ground running!  Their first test is behind them and they were champs for it!  Our Reading Benchmark will be tomorrow.

Report cards will be coming home on Thursday and don’t forget homework is due on Friday!

This week we are reviewing how to make a good summary. This is the video that we watched today (sorry that it’s going to get stuck in your head!). This link will take you directly to the video on youtube.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back!  We are getting this new year started with a bang!  Here is a look at our week ahead:

  • Reading homework was sent home today.  It is due on Friday.  Students need to be sure to prove their answers.
  • Six Flags reading logs also went home today.  There  is a letter on the front explaining the program.  They are due back to me no later than FEB 27.
  • New Vocab words were sent home today as well.  The test will be on Friday 13th.
  • Tues/Thurs this week our students will be taking Benchmarks for Math and Reading.  I told the students that they are like scrimmage games for the STAAR test:)  Our schedule will be different for these days so you are encouraged not to eat lunch with your kiddos on those days.
